KEN ABRAMS was born in Guyana, a small nation on the northern coast of South America. When he was nine, Abrams migrated to the United States with his family. Many of his teenage years were spent drawing and absorbing influences from varied periods and cultures such as archaic art, comic books, the European Renaissance, the Americas and Africa. At 17, he entered the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore. Abrams chose Graphic Illustration as his major, but the strong desire to create led him to the Fine Arts department where he earned a BFA. He was fortunate to meet and befriend Manuel Palacio, a great artist who now lives in Bermuda, became an inspiration to him. The Caribbean was well represented at the Institute. Other excellent artists studying there at the time were Gail Santucci, Chris Cozier, Greg Henry, Analee Davis and Irenee Shaw. Since graduating , Abrams has been working in the printing/graphics arts industry and exhibiting his paintings.

Anancygallery.com was created to promote, display and sell his art.

Paintings by Ken Abrams are included in collections in the United States & the Caribbean.
